希伯來書 4:12
神的道是活潑的、是有功效的、比一切兩刃的劍更快、甚至魂與靈、骨節與骨髓、都能刺入剖開、連心中的思念和主意、都能辨明。
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Yesterday I heard a sister's sharing relating to a 'not-so-good' feeling after serving God. God gave the sister a chance to relate with some people, be a good listener, and give a few lines of encouraging words and wise comments. However, after the wonderful fellowship, apart from the joy for relating to people, there is also a negative feeling of "fearing that she will be too proud of what she had done for God."
I am not saying that a reflection of inner motivation and guard our heart from taking God's glory onto us is inappropriate. But there must be some way that we can be joyfully enjoy what god has done in people's life through us, without too much blame or guilt on self, and with a full confidence that we are serving with a right motivation.
In today's scripture, God's word is so powerful and it is the measurement that can guard us from wrongful thoughts and attitudes of heart.
Dear Lord, i thank you for the living word, that i can use as a measurement and guard to judge my thoughts and attitudes when i relate with people and when i serve you. Thanks Holy Spirit for making me understand God's word and encourage me to allow God's word to penetrate into my soul and spirit, so that i can authentically relate to God, self and others.
Help the sister to enjoy the joy for serving you and with affirmation from your word and the Spirit that she can be your vessel to channel your blessings and love to others.
In Christ name
Amen
Yes Lord, You know what is deep down in our mind, not just thoughts but even attitude and motive. There is nothing I can hide from You. Help me to have a balance between being too lenient or too harsh on myself. Help me to beware of any pride that may come up, if I did something good, let all the glory and honour be with You. Let me also have the confidence that God will use me to do great things if He sees fit; that I should not be afraid of letting God use me in His own way. Let the word of God live and act in my life,
